AquaGen Wave Energy Donut:  Electricity from Wave
Motion to Help Power Data Buoys

AquaGen's Wave Energy Donut supplements Data Buoys Solar power with Wave Power to keep their electronics running.

AquaGen Wave Buoy with SoFar Buoys

AquaGen WAVE TECHNOLOGY.  Thousands of Data Buoys exist all around the world (Oceans, Rivers and Lakes).  Data buoys measure and transmit automatically in a predictable, controlled way, communicating in real time via satellite telecommunication systems. Data buoy observations make significant contributions to our ability to model, understand, and describe global weather and climate on all spatial and temporal scales.

Data Buoys like SoFar Spotter, work extremely well, however they all have one common problem called  BIO-FOULING (on the solar panels): Bio-fouling (Spotter picture on right below), or biological fouling, is the accumulation of microorganisms, plants, algae, bird dropping or small animals on the solar panels.  This buildup causes the solar panel to reduce power or even stop generating power which then causes the battery to not charge and the data not to be collected or transmitted.

The AquaGen Wave Technology (patent pending) has electrical generators that generate power from small waves. AquaGen is working with our partner (SoFar) to test our wave generator technology with the SoFar Spotter Data Buoys.

More information is available under NDA.  Please see pictures and videos below.  AquaGen is testing three Wave generators with six SoFar Spotter  Buoys in Lake Winnipeg (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) and Victoria, BC Canada (see  pictures and videos below)
